If you are taking regular repeat medication you can request your prescriptions in writing:
We will fulfil your request within two working days.
You will only be able to order prescriptions that are on repeat
(Please DO NOT order online if you want to order an urgent prescription)
Local chemists do provide delivery services. If you want to use these services please ask your preferred chemist and let us know when you order your repeat prescription. Please allow extra time if the chemist collects or delivers your prescription. Murrays provide a service at the Practice.
If you are new to the Practice and you are currently taking ongoing repeat medication you will need to make an appointment to see a doctor or our practice pharmacist before your next prescription is due.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
