pen_on_diaryPlease telephone 01684 584050 for appointments – our telephone lines are open at 08:00.

By providing telephone and face to face appointments with GPs, our nurse practitioner, nursing team and practice pharmacist we have a variety of options available to suit your needs.

Routine GP appointments can be pre-booked with a GP of your choice - usually these are available 2-6 weeks in advance. We also have a number of GP appointments that become available each morning to be booked that day; when we can you will have a choice of GP but this may not always be possible when booking a same day appointment.

You may ask for a longer appointment if you have several problems. Please ring if you cannot keep an appointment so that it can be offered to somebody else.

We have created a document with more information about our clinical staff and appointment system.

Our nurse practitioner Jane is available every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and some Thursdays.

“Jane the nurse practitioner can recognise and deal with most common health complaints and are able to give advice or prescribe if appropriate. If your problem is more serious and needs the attention of a GP they can arrange this”.

Clinical Phamacist

We have 2 clinical pharmacists at Malvern Health Centre. Both Kirsty and Gulab are available for face to face and telephone appointments. They can help with anything related to your medication; including routine medication reviews, advice about side effects or problems with medication, and changes to medications or doses.

Duty Surgery

The aim of this service is to provide patients with rapid access to a doctor for an acute condition which requires immediate consultation and/or treatment on the day.

When using this service please remember the following:-

  • You will be called by the emergency doctor of the day in the first instance
  • Appointments are timed at five minute intervals
  • Appointments are for one acute condition only
  • We will try to keep your wait to a minimum

You also need to know that :

The emergency doctor may be called out of surgery if an emergency occurs. (we will try to keep you informed of any delays)

The telephone triage time you are given is  approximate and may alter depending on demands made on the emergency doctor. ( the emergency doctor may run late)

PLEASE do not use the duty service to gain rapid access to your doctor of choice for an ongoing medical problem - this results in duty surgeries running very late and causes patients with acute problems further delays.

We are now offering extended hours appointments, outside our normal opening hours. These will usually be between 8:30 am - 12:00 pm on a Saturday, which will hopefully help those who find it difficult to attend between 8.00 am - 6.30 pm on a weekday. If you would benefit from an extended hours appointment, please discuss this with the receptionist who will be happy to advise on availability. (Please note this is a voluntary additional service with a limited number of appointments). If you are unable to attend an appointment you have booked, for whatever reason, please let us know.  We can then offer that appointment to someone else who may need it.

In addition to the practice’s normal opening hours, and additional surgery opening times as stated above, you can also book an appointment to see a local clinician in the evenings or on Saturday and Sunday at locations across South Worcestershire.  GP practices are working together to provide extended access appointments to our patients. This means that your extended access appointment may be with a different GP, nurse or based in a different location or practice than you are used to, and some of these appointments are telephone only.  These appointments are pre-bookable by contacting the surgery during our opening times – when calling please ask for an extended access appointment and our receptionists will help you to find a convenient appointment
